A calmer way to hunt

timeline.hk helps you move from vague travel wish to a focused, time-sensitive award search.

01

Describe the trip

Choose your origin, destination, and departure dates for a one-way trip. Compare cabin availability, then narrow your search to the dates that suit you.

02

Read the availability

We organize award-seat signals into a view you can scan quickly, so a promising date does not disappear in a sea of tabs.

03

Take the handoff

When you find the right seat, continue to the airline's booking flow. timeline.hk helps you spot the moment; you stay in control of the booking.

01

Search for Flights

On the home page, enter your route (origin → destination), select your preferred cabin class, and pick your date range.

Availability release timing varies by route and cabin. Search dates that suit your trip rather than relying on a fixed booking window.

02

View Availability Calendar

The calendar uses teal for high availability and amber for low availability. Dates with no scheduled flight have a dashed border. Click a highlighted date to review its itinerary, then continue to Cathay to book.

Availability changes over time. An active Watch checks about once an hour and emails you if a check finds an available seat.

03

Set Up Monitoring (Optional)

Click an unavailable date (dashed border) to set up monitoring; checks start only after email verification and payment. A Watch covers one route, one departure date, and one cabin. Choose a Single Watch for HK$9, or a 30-Day Pass for HK$39 with up to 100 concurrent Watches. Each active Watch is checked about hourly. We email when a check finds availability and, if none is found, send at most one daily status email.

The 30-Day Pass is not unlimited and does not auto-renew. The concurrent limit is 100 Watches, and removing a Watch frees a slot to reuse. Each route + date + cabin counts as one Watch, so HKG → FUK with 30 dates × 3 cabins = 90 Watches.

One-way only

How Watches are counted

Each one-way route + departure date + cabin is one Watch. For example, HKG → FUK with 30 dates × 3 cabins = 90 Watches.

Single Watch

HK$9

One route, one date, one cabin.

HK$9 one-time. The route, date, and cabin are fixed after purchase and monitored until the departure date.

Monitoring ends when the departure date is reached. Finding availability does not end the Watch.

30-Day Pass

HK$39

Up to 100 concurrent Watches for 30 days.

Add Watches for different origins, destinations, dates, and cabin classes. Each route, date, and cabin combination counts as one Watch, up to 100 active at once. Remove Watches to free slots for another date or flight.

HK$39 one-time. No automatic renewal. After payment, add or remove Watches anytime from your management page; removing one frees a slot to reuse.

Your 30-Day Pass remains available for the full 30 days. Each Watch is monitored only until its departure date; you can add new Watches until the Pass expires.

Cabin Classes Explained

01

Economy

Most affordable in miles. Opens regularly, especially on regional routes. Good value for short hops.

02

Premium Economy

Extra space and amenities. Less availability than Economy, more common on long-haul routes.

03

Business

Premium experience: lie-flat beds, priority service. Rare but worth hunting for. Sweet spot routes have surprise releases.

04

First

Ultra-premium. Highest cost in miles, lowest availability. Usually paired with Business availability.

Pro Tips for Success

Be Flexible

Premium cabins rarely show continuous availability. Search multiple dates, alternate routes, and even nearby airports. Flexibility = more options.

Hunt Off-Peak

Seat availability is unpredictable. Try nearby dates or alternate routes, and set Watches for the options that fit your trip.

Act Fast

An alert reports availability found by a recent check; it does not guarantee the seat is still available. Confirm the details and complete booking with Cathay.

Set Multiple Watches

Monitor different dates, cabins, and routes simultaneously. Diversified monitoring catches opportunities you might otherwise miss.

The principle

Less refreshing. More deciding.

Award travel is already complicated enough. The service is designed to keep the useful signal close, clear, and ready to act on.
